Madison Kaminski, Meteorologist
Madison Kaminski joined the ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Team in September 2026. She grew up in Orland Park, Illinois. She is familiar with local weather patterns and looks forward to forecasting lake-effect snow the most. While she enjoys snow, she is not a fan of cold weather. Madison was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis at age 6, and certain atmospheric conditions can trigger pain. This personal experience with changing weather patterns influenced her decision to move to the desert for college to study meteorology.
She is completing her education at Arizona State University and will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Geography, with a focus in Meteorology and Climatology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication. During her collegiate career, she interned with the City of Phoenix Water Services Department and Salt River Project, gaining experience in operational sectors of weather and climate. Madison also worked as a multimedia journalist and weather host for Cronkite News, ASU's college newscast, after interning at ABC15 KNXV, where she shadowed award-winning meteorologists. During her time in college, she served as vice president of the Weather Club, joined the Psi Epsilon Chapter of Chi Omega, and played on the Women's Club Soccer Team.
Outside of forecasting, Madison enjoys spending time with friends and family, staying active by hiking or riding her bike, and trying new foods through her latest hobby, cooking. She looks forward to engaging with the community and exploring nature in the Michiana area since it differs so much from Arizona.
