Woman changes plea to guilty after killing husband with car
LaPorte County Jail MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- On Monday Oct. 3, 2025, the Michigan City Police Department responded to reports of a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash at the Tall Timbers Apartments.
Upon arrival at the scene, MCPD responders saw the victim, Kyle Suarez, was being placed in a La Porte County EMS ambulance where EMS had begun working on life-saving care. Suarez later succumbed to his injuries
Suarez had been hit by his wife's vehicle, a black Chrysler 200.
MCPD spoke with Miranda Eggleston-Suarez, Suarez's wife, on the phone. She told police that Suarez "was on her last nerve" and that she was tired of him. Eggleston-Suarez advised police that her and Suarez had been fighting and Suarez had grabbed her steering wheel. She then left the Tall Timber Apartments parking lot and drove to a gas station near Tryon and 212.
Eggleston-Suarez agreed to meet with police back at the apartment complex and told officers that she did not mean to hit anyone.
Miranda Eggleston-Suarez is charged with:
- Murder (F1)
- Voluntary Manslaughter (F2)
- Failure to Remain at the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death (F4)
