SOUTH BEND, Ind. – West Side South Bend celebrated its opening with a ribbon cutting with community leaders Tuesday afternoon.
The new headquarters is located on West Western Avenue.
The organization aims to bring the neighborhood together through history, art, culture and business.
Mayor Pete Buttigieg said, “You know, there was a time when people had a certain attitude about the west side that wasn’t positive. To see the west side now taking its own future into its hands doing these really positive steps and really developing not just energy but pride in the neighborhood, is really inspiring and motivating to us.”
The new headquarters will be used to host programs with partner organizations and provide information on city events to the community.
