PORTLAND, Ind. (AP) — A tornado has been spotted in eastern Indiana with reports of damage to some homes in the area. Meteorologist Nathan Marsili says the National Weather Service in northern Indiana received an indication by radar of a tornado in Jay County which was verified by a spotter in Portland about 3:50 p.m. Friday.
Marsili says there is video of a large tornado.
No injuries have been reported.
Marsili says the weather service likely will do a survey Saturday of the area were the tornado was spotted.
Portland is northeast of Indianapolis.
The tornado was associated with storms that moved Friday through parts of the state.
