
LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The Washington Park Zoo in Michigan City is excited to welcome visitors back for its annual season reopening.
The zoo will open its gates this Saturday at 10 a.m.
Moving forward, the zoo will operate from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. every day including holidays, up until Labor Day weekend.
According to the Michigan City Parks and Recreation department, " As part of this year’s offerings, the zoo will feature a full slate of engaging education programs and special events, designed to inspire a passion for wildlife and conservation."
Washington Park Zoo is home to over 330 animals and "actively participates in Species' Survival Plans, collaborating with zoos and organizations worldwide to contribute to conservation efforts that have a global impact" according to the zoo."
