ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. --- On Saturday around 5:15 p.m. police responded to a fatal crash near the intersection of McKinley Highway and Cedar Trail.
19-year-old Osceola resident Abdullah Ayad Matawaa was driving a motorcycle headed west on McKinley Highway.
Matawaa hit the passenger side of a turning vehicle, driven by 81-year-old Donald Mann of Mishawaka. Mann was turning off of McKinley and onto Cedar Trail, according to officials.
Mann’s car then hit another vehicle that was stopped on Cedar Trail.
Matawaa died at the scene of the crash.
Mann suffered minor injuries and the minor in the stopped vehicle was not injured.
Drugs and alcohol do not seem to be a factor in the crash right now.
The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team was called to assist in the investigation.
