MISHAWAKA, Ind.-- The global outage has also inconvenienced people’s day to day lives here in Michiana.
Many having a hard time grabbing their morning coffee, taking money out from ATMS, and filling up gas tanks.
University Park Mall remained open despite a few stores not being able to operate, including JC Penny and Yankee Candle.
“It’s a Little scary how one little glitch can do so many things right we several stores had some trouble opening this morning, but most of those are up and running couple stores noticeably JCPenney and Yankee candle are not open at this time. Still hoping to reopen later today or certainly tomorrow for the busy weekend for back-to-school season,” said Chris Carlson a representative for UP Mall.
While at all Family Express Locations, systems were down, along with their headquarters, and production centers.
CEO Gus Olympidis raised questions of the trust society has put on technology and who will be held responsible for this after his stores’ unprecedented experience today.
“And it makes you wonder... about our vulnerability as a Nation, as society, as a free world,” said Olympidis.
Some stores are back up and operating, but Olympidis said they will work through the night to get back to businesses as usual.
