SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- As we sweat our way through the dog days of summer, football fans are already foaming at the mouth for the season's first kick off ... and they are not alone. 

United Airlines announced Thursday that it is adding over 20 new flights that are directly related to some of college football's biggest matchups of 2025.

"As football fans prepare for the 2025 season, United is adding 24 nonstop flights and flying bigger planes to some of the biggest college football games of the season," a United spokesperson said.

Nearly half of the new flights are for Notre Dame games, including the highly anticipated Notre Dame versus USC matchup on Oct. 18.

“From historic touchdowns to once-in-a-lifetime plays, these are the moments fans never forget and there’s nothing like being there to witness it live,” said James Starnes, Director of Domestic Scheduling at United.

“We’ve added flights across the country to some of the biggest college football matchups, giving fans more options to get in on the action and follow their team on the road this season.”  

Added flights for Notre Dame away games:

• Sept. 27, Notre Dame playing Arkansas – adding a direct flight between: Newark/ New York (EWR) and Bentonville, AR (XNA).
• Nov. 1, Notre Dame playing Boston College – flying bigger planes between: Newark/New York (EWR) and Boston (BOS).
• Nov. 15, Notre Dame playing the University of Pittsburgh – flying bigger planes between: Newark/New York (EWR) and Pittsburgh, PA (PIT).

Added flights for Notre Dame home games:

• Sept. 13, Texas A&M playing Notre Dame – adding a direct flight between: Houston, TX (IAH) and South Bend, IN (SBN) as well as Newark/ New York (EWR) and South Bend, IN (SBN).
• Sept. 20, Purdue playing Notre Dame – adding a direct flight between: Newark/ New York (EWR) and South Bend, IN (SBN).
• Oct. 4, Boise State playing Notre Dame – adding a direct flight between: Boise, ID (BOI) and South Bend, IN (SBN) and Newark/ New York (EWR) and South Bend, IN (SBN).
• Oct. 11, NC State playing Notre Dame – adding a direct flight between: Newark/ New York (EWR) and South Bend, IN (SBN).
• Oct. 18, USC playing Notre Dame – adding a direct flight between: Los Angeles, CA (LAX) and South Bend, IN (SBN) as well as Newark/ New York (EWR) and South Bend, IN (SBN).
• Nov. 8, Navy playing Notre Dame – adding a direct flight between: Newark/ New York (EWR) and South Bend, IN (SBN).
• Nov. 22, Syracuse playing Notre Dame – adding a direct flight between: Newark/New York and South Bend, IN (SBN).
