Growing calls for action following broadcast slur
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- In December 2025, a wide variety of FDA-regulated products were recalled, including here in Indiana, because they may have been contaminated by rodent droppings.
According to the FDA, Gold Star Distribution is recalling items ranging from medical devices to food items, including Pringles and Coke products, after "rodent excreta, rodent urine, and bird droppings" were found where they were being stored.
The FDA says some of those products may have made it to store shelves in Indianapolis.
While that's a way away from Michiana, some wonder if there's any reason to be concerned here.
Janelle Iaccino, with Franklin Pest Solutions, stopped by to answer several questions and explained what effects the contamination could have.
You can learn more about the current Gold Star recall on the FDA's website.
