Two vehicle crash in Jefferson Township

CASS COUNTY, Mich. --Deputies responded to a two-vehicle injury crash around 5:42 p.m. on Thursday at the intersection of Oil City Road and Monette Street in Jefferson Township.

Investigation shows that 33-year-old Allison Sharp of Elkhart was going north on Oil City Road when authorities say she disregarded a stop sign at the intersection with Monette Street, where another 33-year-old from Cassopolis was passing through, going east on Monette.

The Elkhart driver struck the Cassopolis driver's truck and caused it to roll over.

That Elkhart driver was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for minor injuries, along with their passenger.

Everyone was wearing their seatbelts and drugs, and alcohol were not a factor in this crash.

This incident currently remains under investigation.
