ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Cheer teams throughout the Midwest competed for the 2021 Champion Force Athletics national cheerleading competition.
The Goshen Inferno and LaGrange Rampage Champion Force cheerleading teams both managed to come out on top at nationals on July 10th defeating teams from across the Midwest in Toledo, Ohio.
Their wins didn’t come without hard work and dedication though.
Both teams spent about one hour per week, for four weeks preparing to showcase their talent in front of the judges.
They performed their gold-medal dance routine with a number of stunts, tumbling, pyramids and more.
“Having them take first on top of that is the cherry on top of the sundae because you go and just tell them don’t fall, don’t drop your kid, do your best and have fun. That’s always what I say,” Holfer said.
Now, you can be a part of the winning team too!
Rebecca Holfer who coaches both teams and seven others across the Michiana area says all ages are welcomed to enroll.
“Every time I watch them perform, I'm crying, because I'm so proud of them. They're just… amazing kids. So, I’m just really proud,” Holfer said.
Congrats again to both the Goshen and LaGrange cheerleading teams on their big wins at nationals.
