Two injured in Cass County crash

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- At 3:38 p.m., the Cass County Sheriff Office responded to single vehicle crash on Marcellus Highway and Griffis Road.

54-year-old Robert Rudd was traveling westbound on Marcellus Highway when the motorcycle he was operating experienced mechanical issues, losing control and crashing in the eastbound lane. The passenger of the motorcycle, 44-year-old Melisa Menzies, was also involved in the crash.

Rudd was taken by MED Flight to Memorial Hospital in South Bend and Menzies was taken to Memorial Hospital via ambulance.

They were not wearing at the time of the crash.

Alcohol and drugs are not considered a factor in the crash.
