SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- This week's ABC57 Cub Reporter is 10-year-old Isaac Knefely, who interviewed South Bend Cubs Infielder, Ty Southisene.
"Hey, I'm Isaac, and I'm this week's ABC 57 South Bend Cubs reporter. If you had any other sport you would like to play professionally, what would it be?"
"I think if I were to play any other sport, I would probably, good question, maybe be a boxer."
"What advice would you give for a kid that would like to play baseball someday?"
"The advice I give other kids is, you know, the same advice my dad has always told me, is, you know, work hard, be disciplined. He always used to tell us, you know, if you want anything, don't be surprised, behind the door that you knock on is hard work and dedication."
"What would be your favorite team growing up?"
"Good question. My favorite team growing up was the Yankees. Growing up, I always had, you know, Derek Jeter jersey, Suzuki, you know, all the greats, A-Rod, Robinson Cano. So always grew up watching the Yankees and watching all the great players they have."
"Who'd be your favorite player from the Yankees?"
"My favorite player from the Yankees is Derek Jeter. You know, one of the, one of the greats, you know, role model of mine. You know, my dad, one of my dad's favorite players is definitely Derek Jeter."
"What would be your favorite pre-game snack?"
"My favorite pregame snack is probably a coffee and a hot dog"
