Getting sunnier today, more rain and snow tomorrow
We finally saw abundant sunshine today for only the third time in the past 37 days! November, December and January are Michiana’s cloudiest months of the year.
The decreasing sunny days have been noticeable here in Michiana. In late September, there were ten sunny days in a row, and another four sunny days in a row at the end of October. That was the last time we saw so much sun. From late October until now, there have only been two sunny days. Overall, the past two months have been cloudier than normal. According to Michiana’s five year average, there were more cloudy days than normal and less sunny days than normal.

Moving forward, there is good and bad news. The good news is that Saturday through Tuesday will stay mostly to partly sunny, so enjoy the bright blue skies. The bad news is that December and January are normally our cloudiest months of the year.
We normally start to see more sunshine again in February in March. So get your sunglasses ready for the next several days and then plan to buy a sun lamp for Christmas!
