No. 20 ranked Fighting Irish soccer team defeats Clemson in ACC opener
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Notre Dame's men soccer team stayed undefeated, defeating Clemson 3-2 in the ACC opener Saturday night.
The win marked their fourth-straight victory following a season-opening tie against Indiana University on August 24.
Junior forward Eno Nto got the scoring started with an early goal following an assist by defender Kyle Genenbacher. Junior midfielder Bryce Boneau increased their lead to 2-0 at the 32-minute mark before the Tigers stormed back with two quick goals to end the quick-paced half.
The game turned into more of a defensive struggle in the second half, with the only goal occurring early in the half after senior forward Daniel Russo scored the go-ahead goal.
They host the 3-0-1 Michigan State Spartans on their home turf on Tuesday, September 12. The game kicks off at 8 p.m. EST.
