Teen dies after head-on collision in Kosciusko County

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind.—According to the Kosciusko’s County Sheriff’s Office, a Goshen teen died on the scene of a collision Saturday evening after drifting into oncoming traffic on the 8400 block of North State Road 15.

Authorities say 18-year-old Keshawn Smith was driving a Honda Civic southbound on State Road 15 when his vehicle crossed over the center line into the path of a Ford Expedition.

The Expedition, driven by 30-year-old Ramiro Mendoza Fajardo, was traveling northbound while towing a Jeep Commander.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene while Fajardo and his passenger refused medical treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
