Suspect steals vehicle before driving through Berrien County to ransack other vehicles

NILES, Mich. – Police officers are searching for a theft suspect who stole a vehicle in Niles and used it to drive to Lincoln Township where they ransacked multiple unlocked vehicles and then drove back to Niles.

Two other vehicles were also reported as stolen from one home in Lincoln Township and they were recovered at an apartment complex in Niles.

The stolen vehicle from Niles was found near the two other vehicles stolen from Lincoln Township.

The stolen items from the vehicles in Lincoln Township include mostly incidental property, such as sunglasses and phone chargers.

The thefts in Lincoln Township took place between 3 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police Officers are currently reviewing footage from Ring Doorbell systems and they are recommending that you lock your car doors and keep all valuable items in your home.
