Sturgis Police investigate structure fire on North Clay Street

STURGIS, Mich. – A fire was reported at North Clay Street on Thursday evening, according to Sturgis law enforcement officials.

Firefighters were sent to the scene of a structure fire in the 300 block of North Clay Street around 5:30 p.m.

Responding units found fire coming from a second floor apartment.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames quickly and all residents were safely evacuated.

A male subject was taken into custody on charges related to the fire, according to a press release.
