BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- Students from the Peace for Life Leadership Academy, as well as engaged community members kicked off their annual 90-day Peace Challenge today.
Every year when school ends and summer begins, students hold the Peace Walk, a group trek from the high school to City Hall. Once they reach their destination, they take the 90-day Peace Challenge, a pledge to spend the summer avoiding guns and violence and working to better their community. The theme for this summer is P.O.E., meaning Peace Over Everything.
