St. Joseph County Police investigating woman's death

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- St. Joseph County officers responded to a call of a woman needing assistance at 1 p.m. on Saturday. 

The woman was located at the intersection of Chippewa Avenue and Keria Trail.

A bystander noted to officers that she had been bleeding from the mouth and nose, appearing to have had a seizure.

She was transported by ambulance to the hospital’s emergency room by personnel present.

Upon further treatment, medical staff concluded that the patient had sustained multiple non-self-inflicted wounds. She died not long after.

The victim has yet to be identified.
