ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. --- This afternoon, a little after 5 p.m., Saint Joseph County Fire Territory were dispatched to Chain O'Lakes for a report of a subject who had fallen through the ice.

Units responded and crews quickly used ice rescue operations. Utilizing their coordinated ice rescue techniques and equipment, responders were able to get to the victim, remove them from the water, and get them to safety.

Saint Joseph County Fire Territory wants to remind everyone that ice conditions can change rapidly. Use extreme caution and stay off the ice.
