SSL honoring teachers with complimentary rides

ABC 57

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Shore Line is showing their appreciation to local teachers by inviting teachers to ride for free during July 14 to July 20.

Teachers will need to show a valid school ID and will be able to ride free on all off-peak weekday and all weekend trains during that week.

Off-peak weekday trains arrive at Millennium Station after 9:30 a.m. CST and will depart from Millennium Station before 3:30 p.m. and after 6:30 p.m. CST.

“Educators across Northwest Indiana, South Bend, and Chicago consistently inspire and enrich their students' lives. This promotion is our opportunity to thank teachers for their tireless commitment and the invaluable contributions they make every day," said Amber Kettring, Manager of Customer Service and Communications for the SSL.

Children can also ride for free with the Kids Ride Free Program through the SSL. This program allows up to three children ages 13 and younger to ride for free with each paying parent or guardian on off-peak weekday and all weekend trains.
