Spectrum Health Lakeland revises visitor guidelines as COVID-19 cases rise

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – Spectrum Health Lakeland is revising their visitor guidelines in response to the increase in community positivity rate of COVID-19.

Effective immediately, revised guidelines will allow one adult visitor from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the length of a patient’s stay on all inpatient units.

Two visitors are allowed for labor and delivery, pediatric patients, and end-of-life care.

COVID-19 patients are limited to virtual visits.

Patients with cognitive impairments or in need of physical assistance can have one adult accompany them to physician offices, lab, radiology, and other outpatient appointments.

All visitors must wear a face mask in at any Spectrum Health Lakeland facility. Patients in Spectrum Health clinics or physician offices must also wear a mask during their visit and follow other safety protocols, like social distancing in waiting rooms.
