South Bend officials holding steel topping ceremony at Raclin Murphy Encore Center

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The newest addition to the Morris Performing Arts Center location in downtown South Bend, the Raclin Murphy Encore Center will be holding a steel topping ceremony as they place the final beam at 11 a.m. on March 6.
"Join us in celebrating the significant milestone of placing the last steel beam on the center facility," a city spokesperson said.
South Bend Mayor James Mueller, city staff and common council members will host the ceremony where attendees will have the opportunity to sign the beam before it's placed.
"The site will be open for those who want to sign the beam 30 minutes before the ceremony begins, and briefly afterwards if you didn’t get a chance to sign prior," a city spokesperson said. "The ceremony will take place, rain or shine, so please plan accordingly. Safety regulations will be required while on site."
The Raclin Murphy Encore Center was built to provide space for expanded programming, encouraging artistic expression and community engagement for generations to come," according to The Morris.
