ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – A South Bend non-profit organization is kicking off the Halloween season with a drive-thru movie experience throughout October.

Reins of Life is hosting Spooky Stables Cinema at the barn after having many events canceled in the summer and spring due to COVID-19, organizers wanted to do something festive for the fall season.

“So this crazy drive-in idea came about through Holly Byers and me. We were kind of, just thinking of ideas of how we could do a fundraiser and utilize our unique space here, "Aly Olson, the Reins of Life Assistant to the Executive Director said,"I mean we have great land and we can socially distance and still have safe events.

Spooky Stables Cinema will feature a family-friendly Halloween story every Friday this month. The drive-in cinema is using an FM transmitter, so moviegoers can tune into their radio and hear the sound directly inside the car. Gates open at 6:45 p.m. and the movie will start at 7:30 p.m. Olson advises people to come out early.

"As many as you can fit safely in your vehicle, bring them. You can bring your food, we’re just asking no alcohol or smoking on the property, and there will be concessions available on our feed wagons that will be going around the drive-in parking lot,” Olson said.

You can purchase tickets at https://www.reinsoflife.org/spooky-stables-cinema or at the gate with cash. If you have a Rein for Life magnet, you can get five percent off your ticket.
