South Bend Medical Foundation acquires medical record administration ChartPro

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Medical Foundation recently announced its acquisition of ChartPro, a medical records administration company based in Atlanta.
"This strategic acquisition strengthens SBMF by diversifying the organization’s healthcare services offerings," said SBMF Director of Sales and Marketing Dominic Carpenter.
"Following the 2019 sale of its clinical laboratory business to LabCorp, SBMF has focused on its core strengths in pathology and blood banking services. The integration of ChartPro will expand SBMF’s capabilities to managing electronic health records (EHRs), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, and providing streamlined access to patient data for healthcare providers."
SBMF says the acquisition was completed in April with integration efforts currently underway.
“This acquisition marks a significant step in our mission to provide high-quality healthcare solutions to those we serve, keeping in mind there is a life behind everything we do,” said Tim Travis, President and CEO of SBMF.
“By bringing ChartPro into the SBMF family, we are enhancing our ability to support healthcare providers and invest in our community through healthcare education, providing scholarships to the next generation of healthcare workers, and supporting the advancement of research initiatives that impact people’s health and well-being.”
SBMF says it plans to retain all current ChartPro employees.
