South Bend International Airport celebrates inaugural flight to Washington D.C.
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend International Airport (SBN) celebrated its inaugural flight to Washington D.C. on Wednesday morning.
Passengers on the inaugural flight were treated to a gate party including a coffee bar, pastries, and SBN and United Airlines swag.
Mike Daigle, CEO and Executive Director of SBN, said, "So, any flights to new destinations for the community are huge. This new daily flight with United Airlines to Dulles really provides well over 100 connections they can make there, both domestically and internationally, plus connecting daily with our nation's capital, again, just a tremendous opportunity for our community to be able to make those connections, not just the flight connections, but connecting with our leadership and our elected officials in D.C., sometimes on their own turf."
