South Bend Holiday Light Parade rescheduled due to weather

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Downtown South Bend’s fourth annual Holiday Light Parade has been rescheduled to December 17 due to the possibility of rain this Friday.

“Postponing this event is a challenge,” says Kylie Carter of Downtown South Bend. “But all of our parade participants and fellow organizers have been amazingly flexible and understanding. We are confident that the rain-free parade will be worth the wait and we hope to see a great turnout on the evening of December 17th!”

The rescheduled parade will take place at 7 p.m. along East Jefferson Boulevard from Notre Dame Avenue to Niles Avenue.

The parade is expected to last about 30 minutes.

Free parking will be available in the Main Street Garage, Leighton Garage, and Wayne Street Garage in addition to free street parking.

Spectators can also park at the Parkview Atrium lot and Zion Church lot.

Parking will not be allowed on the parade route from 4 to 8 p.m.

The deadline to be in the parade has been extended to December 13.
