South Bend Farmer’s Market offering curbside pickup

SOUTH BEND, Ind.— In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, as small businesses face great economic challenges due to state and federal restrictions, the South Bend Farmer’s Market is finding new ways to serve the community locally-grown and made items.

The market is planning to be open Saturday, March 21 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and during that time, it will offer shoppers the option to come in and shop or to access their new curbside service.

Shoppers can text (574) 309-8202 with their orders. Order pickup will take place at Door C and payments of cash or checks are accepted.

When texting in orders, customers may give vendor preference but substitutions may be necessary, the market said.

Items like vegetables, meats, cheeses, and baked goods will be available.

The market said that the days it’s closed, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, the market is sanitized.
