SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Cubs’ pitching dominates in Wednesday's defeat of Quad Cities River Bandits.

South Bend pitchers struck out 14 Bandits in Wednesday night’s rain-delayed game. The Cubs ended the night with a win, final score 6-1 in a game also called early, due to rain.

With South Bend leading the series 2-0, the Cubs and River Bandits will oppose again at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday. Right-hander Mason McGwire is scheduled to pitch for South Bend against Quad Cities lefty David Shields.
