South Bend Cubs are Midwest League Champions

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Cubs win tonight's game 7-4, becoming Midwest League Champions!

After dropping the first game of the series in an upsetting fashion, the South Bend Cubs make the reverse sweep a reality as they beat the Lake County Captains two times in a row to lock in the championship.

The Cubbies ended the regular season with a record of 73-58.

The Cubs beat the Cedar Rapids Kernels 2-1 in the Divisional Series.

The last time the Cubs held the championship trophy was back in 2019 when they swept the Clinton LumberKings 2 games to 0.
