Some Indiana casinos to close Monday in response to coronavirus pandemic

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. --- Many Indiana casinos announcing closures in response to the coronavirus pandemic. 

Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City is one of the casinos closings. The Indiana Gaming Commission says gaming and racing operations will close for at least 14 days. 

Four Winds Casino in South Bend says they have no plans to close at this time. They are ramping up sanitation efforts to keep guests safe.

Full statement from the Indiana Gaming Commission: 

"Based on changing circumstances and in the interest of public health, Indiana licensed gaming and racing operations will close for at least 14 days beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020. The Indiana Gaming and Horse Racing Commissions will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates as appropriate."
