SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Saturday morning, 13 local businesses will be taking part in small business Saturday. The event will run from 9 a.m. until noon at Howard Park. While this is typically the busiest day of the year for these businesses, due to the impact of COVID-19, it is an especially important year for local shops.
Businesses are offering deals, promotions and other incentives in order to bring out more customers and get a boost in revenue today. When you arrive at the welcome station at Howard Park, you can get free coupons, coffee and even donuts. They’ll have a shop small photo booth as well where you can take pictures to participate and enter in a drawing for a prize basket filled with goodies from downtown businesses like Curbside Café, Peggs, the Pigeon & the Hen Pottery, Barnaby’s and more!
The “Snap Local, Shop Local” scavenger hunt is fairly simple. All you need to do is take a photo of your purchase or meal, and then post it with a sentence that explains why you love to shop or eat there!
Then make sure to tag downtown South Bend, the business, and use the hashtag “My D-T-S-B.”
Every post you make gets an entry into the drawing, so the more you shop, the greater the chance that you’ll win the grand prize!
Keep in mind that COVID-19 precautions will be in place, and you will have to wear a mask and be mindful of social distancing when shopping.
