ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – A six-year-old girl has been found dead after being reported missing in New Carlisle, according to St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit.
The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit identified the victim as Grace Ross, a child from New Carlisle.
At the time, a 14-year-old suspect has been arrested, according to CMHU.
The name of the arrested 14-year-old suspect is not being released at this time, as he is progressing through the juvenile system, stated the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit.
Grace was reported missing in the area of Chapman Street in New Carlisle around 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The child was found deceased in a wooded area near Chapman Street around 8:25 p.m. on Friday.
Due to the circumstances, CMHU was called to the scene to investigate. An autopsy has been scheduled for Sunday.
