Site of shipwreck to be dedicated near Mount Baldy in Michigan City on July 18

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- The dedication of Indiana's 2nd official Shipwreck Nature Preserve, the Muskegon will take place on July 18.

The event will take place at the Michigan City Lighthouse Museum from 1:30 p.m. until 4 p.m.

A mooring buoy will be installed, a bronze commemorative plaque, and high-quality underwater footage and photos will be collected.

The event will include access to the museum, a special model of the Muskegon with a chance to meet its artist, food trucks, and more.

The public is welcome to attend.
