Shooting under investigation in Benton Township

BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Police are investigating an apparent armed robbery and shooting in Benton Township that left one man injured.

Police were called to the hospital for a report of a gunshot victim Thursday night.  Officers spoke with a 35-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg.

According to a press release, the victim told officers he was walking on Highland, near Cornelia, when two men came out from behind a bush and flashed a gun.  There was a struggle, and the gun went off, hitting the victim.  The two men then stole money from the victim and took off heading east.
