ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – A shooting on the 500 block of 5th Street in Elkhart leaves one dead on Saturday, left a 27-year-old man dead at the scene from gunshot wounds, Elkhart Police Department said.
The dispatch received the call at 5:01 am. Officers were able to secure the scene and called in Detectives from the Elkhart County Homicide Unit, according to officers.
Police have cleared the scene as of 10:06 am on Saturday.
There are not any immediate threats to public safety, and no arrests have been made at this time, officers said.
