NILES, Mich. -- Shelton's Farm Market in Niles closed its doors for the final time Saturday, after being a staple in the community since 1959.
Customers flooded the store for one last time, snagging up the discounts Shelton's was always known to provide. The market has been passed down within the Shelton family for multiple generations, always able to give a family feel to their loyal customers.
Nick Shelton, Mayor of Niles, said, "Today's our last day in business after 77 years. As you can see, it's crazy here. It's been an emotional couple months, but I'm so glad our customers have showed out, and our team still sticking around, and they've done a fantastic job keeping the shelves full for the end."
