Rollover crash traps two drivers

ABC 57

STARKE COUNTY, Ind. -- Two drivers were trapped inside their vehicles after a rollover crash in Starke County Sunday night, says the Starke County Sheriff's Office.

Around 9:24 p.m. Sunday, the sheriff's department responded to a two-vehicle rollover crash at the intersection of S.R. 10 and C.R. 1200 West, also known as County Line Road. The vehicles were heavily damaged, and both drivers were trapped inside.

Officers determined that one vehicle, a white 2024 Chevrolet Silverado, had been driving west on S.R. 10 before crossing the centerline and striking the other vehicle, a gray 2021 Dodge Ram driving east.

The Dodge rolled over, coming to a stop on the south side of the intersection, whereas the Chevrolet stopped on the north side.

The drivers were successfully removed from their vehicles. One driver was taken to Porter Hospital while the other was airlifted to Memorial Hospital for his serious injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
