Road work on Shawnee will result in intermittent lane closures for next three weeks

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Berrien County Road Department has announced scheduled construction on Shawnee Road is set to begin this Thursday, July 25.

The work on Shawnee Road, from the Berrien Springs Village limits to Red Bud Trail intersection, will result in intermittent lane closures and traffic being controlled by flaggers.

The project includes widening the road slightly before resurfacing with a two inches of asphalt overlay.

Drivers should expect delays or seek alternative routes.

The project is expected to take three weeks to complete, but progress is, "subject to contractor and weather," road officials said.

The lane closures are expected to take place mainly between the hours of 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.
