Rebel Art Fest returns for another year with 115 local artists
SAINT JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. --South Bend is gearing up for one of its most anticipated events of the year. Rebel Art Fest is back for its ninth year, celebrating the vibrant and diverse artistic community.
This all started back in 2016 with a goal of celebrating all the arts in the city and seeing the community come together.
Now in its ninth year, this vibrant festival has become a cornerstone event for the city's cultural scene. This year's rebel fest includes 115 local artists, 15 bands and 20 food vendors.
It kicks off at 12 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m. at Potawatomi Park. Attendance is free.
Co-organizer of Rebel Art Fest, Nat FitzGerald, says this festival embodies the creative spirit of South Bend.
"It's just a great event. It's all the weather's supposed to be great the Potawatomi Park is such a great space in our city that we think deserves to be utilized maybe a little more but it's just a great day to come out with the family to see what's out there see the local art to meet some new people just to have just to have a great time just have a blast," FitzGerald said.
