CASS COUNTY, Ind. -- The family behind the destroyed Ramona Roller Rink in Cass County is hoping to rise from the ashes with help from the community.
The roller rink burnt down two months ago after being struck by lightning, leaving just pieces behind of the century-old community staple. The fire even took the life of the beloved roller rink cat, Nugget.
But today was a monumental step in rebuilding, as people in the community and from all over the country came out to their birthday fundraiser.
The fundraising event was complete with dozens of local vendors, raffles, and special donated items to the roller rink.
