SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- UPDATE: The South Bend Police Department has identified the suspect arrested as Lorenzo Williams.

ORIGINAL STORY: The South Bend Police Department has confirmed that a call of shots fired inside Frank's Place in the 300 block of W. Marion Street in South Bend around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Upon arrival, officers cleared the building and checked for victims. No gunshot victims were located," SBPD said. "An individual has been detained in connection with this incident."

Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public associated with this case, which remains an active and ongoing investigation.

The owner of Frank's Place released the following statement about the incident via their official Facebook:

"I’m sure many have heard of the horrific incident that had occurred during the day today at Franks Place Bar and Liquor Store.

I am more than grateful that none of my staff or customers were injured in today's occurrence. That is absolutely the most important part!

The situation at hand could have happened anywhere at any time and we are all confused on why it even happened!

The shooter was detained immediately after the incident occurred.

I have personally worked so hard to bring back a good name and reputation to Frank’s Place as well as my employees. Please do not let this incident change your view on Frank’s. It was a random act of violence and completely out of our control and happened in broad daylight! We have increased security measures to try to avoid anything like this occurring again within our control.

We are still open for business during regular business hours with the same specials and events.

We just ask all of our regulars to continue supporting the business and putting out positive encouragement for our business because we need it now more than ever.

Sincerely,

Autumn Kabzinski"
