Shots fired on Sunnymede Avenue Saturday, cars and homes struck
BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. - Police say a soldier who was home visiting family for the holidays was shot and killed in Berrien County on Monday night.
The St. Joseph Township Police Department were dispatched at 11:10 p.m. on Monday night to a home on Colfax Avenue, just north of Benton and Riverview parks, regarding a shooting incident.
When officers arrived, they found found 23-year-old Tyrone Hassel III with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to Spectrum Lakeland Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
It's not clear which branch of the military Hassel belonged to.
