SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg shared his thoughts just a few days after dropping out of the 2020 presidential race.
Buttigieg urged his supporters to continue fighting for what they believe is right during a phone conference on Wednesday night.
He said he still needs to assess his long term plan in regards to his political future, but will be busy supporting Joe Biden’s presidential campaign and other ballot races in the meantime.
“Let me again say that this is just the beginning. I don’t know all the forms that it will take but what I know is this was never just about putting me in the White House. This was about the things that we believe need to happen and need to change in our country and we need to be more, not less, energized about doing everything we can,” Buttigieg said.
Along with Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar and Michael Bloomberg both suspended their campaigns this week.
All of them placed their support behind Joe Biden who walked away with a big win on Super Tuesday.
