UPDATE TWO: South Bend police announced a suspect is now in custody in connection with Wednesday's shooting on Mac Arthur Avenue.

The suspect's identity has yet to be released.  

UPDATE: South Bend police report the gunshot victim was a woman who was seriously injured.

She was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Violent Crimes Unit Detectives are investigating this case.

ORIGINAL STORY: SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police are responding to a shooting at the 2600 block of MacArthur Avenue Wednesday evening.

St. Joseph County Dispatch confirms the call came in at 9:50 p.m.

Officials say there is one person injured, no word on the status of their injuries.
