One killed, one injured in crash involving two motorcycles
LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- One motorcyclist was injured and another was killed in a crash Saturday afternoon in rural Noble Township, according to the La Porte County Sheriff's Office.
Around 4 p.m., deputies responded to the intersection of CR 400 W and CR 1000 South for a crash involving two motorcycles.
The initial investigation revealed approximately 60 motorcyclists were traveling south on CR 400 West and were slowing down to turn right onto CR 1000 S.
Witnesses told deputies Nicholas Kolosci, 61, swerved left, then right, then his motorcycle went down on the right side. Kolosci was thrown in front of the motorcycle, reports said.
Robert Shepard, 60, was traveling behind Kolosci and his motorcycle crashed into Kolosci's motorcycle.
Shepard was ejected from his motorcycle.
Both drivers suffered upper body injuries and were transported to the hospital.
Shepard died of his injuries.
Toxicology test results are pending.
The crash investigation is ongoing.
