12-year-old confirmed dead after tornado in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that a 12-year-old from the Edwardsburg area lost his life in a weather-related incident during Friday's storms. 

Cass County Central Dispatch received a 911 call around 3:12 p.m. on March 6, indicating a possible tornado touched down in the 68000 block of Conrad Rd. North of US 12 in Edwardsburg. The caller advised they could not find their son. Upon arrival of first responders, it was determined the child had been located, and his parents were providing first aid.

12-year-old Silas Anderson was taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
