PORTER, In. - An 18-year-old has been reported dead after drowning on a beach near Lake Michigan.

The Porter Police Department say that an 18-year-old male and 14-year-old female were swimming at Porter Beach around 7:00 p.m. before experiencing trouble in the water.

The 14-year-old was pulled out of the water by a nearby beachgoer, but the 18-year-old remained underwater for nearly 20 minutes.

The 14-year-old is reportedly "doing fine," according to reports. 

Indiana Conservation Officers are now investigating the drowning.
