Notre Dame Women's Basketball ranked top 10 in AP preseason poll

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame ranks #10 in the nation in the AP preseason poll announced Tuesday. They are ranked preseason top 10 for the second consecutive season, ranked #9 last year.

The Irish open their season facing #6 South Carolina in Paris on November 6.

The ACC has five ranked teams in the preseason top 25, to include Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, North Carolina, Louisville and Florida State. Notre' Dame's ACC home opener is January 7, where they will face North Carolina.

Reigning ACC Tournament champion and 2023 Final Four Team #8 Virgina Tech will come to town February 29 to face the Irish.

Last year the Irish finished their season 27-6, (15-3 ACC) winning the ACC regular season title and appeared in a second consecutive Sweet Sixteen without star point guards Olivia Miles and Dara Mabrey.

Notre Dame returns most of last year's team, losing Dara Mabrey and Lauren Ebo.

Olivia Miles and Sonia Citron, All-ACC First Team members, and Maddy Westbeld, All-ACC Second Team member, return.

Cassandre Prosper joined the Irish as an early enrollee last year, and they welcome her back as well as two additional five-star guards, Hannah Hidalgo and Emma Risch.

According to ESPN's HoopGurlz Recruiting Rankings, Notre Dame is the only team in the nation that signed three top-20 recruits.
